The Godwink of a Surprising Increase

I logged into my account recently and noticed my credit card limit had been increased.
The interesting part? I didn’t apply for it.
No request, no back-and-forth, no planning. It was just… there.
And if I’m being honest, it felt a little prophetic.
Not in an over-the-top, everything-is-a-sign kind of way. But in a quiet, personal nudge kind of way. The kind you almost miss if you’re not paying attention.
I used to be the person who rolled my eyes at that sort of thing. Not everything is a lesson, and not everything needs a deeper meaning.
But I’ve been in a season where I’ve needed reassurance, not big or dramatic, just steady and subtle.
So when I saw the increase, I paused.
Not because of the money itself, but because of what it seemed to represent.
Sometimes, growth and expansion happen before we consciously ask for it. Before we feel ready. Before we even realize we’ve reached a point where we can handle more.
A higher credit limit doesn’t force you to spend more. It simply means the capacity is there.
And that’s what stayed with me.
It felt like a small reminder that increase doesn’t always come the way we expect. Sometimes it shows up quietly, without warning, without effort on our part.
Sometimes it even shows up when we weren’t looking for it at all.
And maybe that’s the point.
That there are things God is doing behind the scenes, preparing, increasing, making room, even when we’re not actively asking for it.
Not everything is a sign.
But sometimes, in certain seasons, you recognize a nudge when it comes.
For me, this felt like one of those moments, a gentle reminder that more can come, even when you least expect it.
And maybe the real question isn’t whether everything means something.
Maybe it’s whether we’re paying attention when something does.
A small, surprising increase… that can point to something bigger.
