When God Writes the Playbook

This post borrows a little inspiration from the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2024 season. If you’re not an Eagles fan, consider yourself warned; rest of the NFC East, Chiefs, Packers, Jaguars, I’m talking to you. Maybe only a Raven’s fan can relate without complaint.
On New Year’s Eve 2024, my pastor declared 2025 the Year of Elevation. The media team paired it with an eagle soaring. Coincidence? Maybe. Or maybe divine alignment.
Watching the Eagles last season mirrored exactly how God has been moving in my life. They started 2–2, stumbled mid-season, and then soared to win the Super Bowl. Every game felt like a “plot twist": unexpected, confusing at first, but perfectly orchestrated.
It’s a reminder that even when things don’t make sense, even when plans derail or outcomes seem uncertain, God’s hand is writing the playbook. The losses, the unexpected turns, the moments of waiting, they’re not mistakes. They’re part of the design. And sometimes, like watching the Eagles’ improbable victories, you just have to sit back and marvel at how perfectly it all comes together.
So here’s my encouragement: look for the patterns, watch for the “plot twists,” and trust that the Author knows the ending. Even when it doesn’t make sense, even when you feel like you’re off-script, He is orchestrating every step with purpose.
This year has been full of my own plot twists. Leaving a job without a backup plan, the temporary move to Canada, editing my first book… all moments that seemed uncertain, even risky. And yet, the message has been clear: Every moment is by Your design.
Reflective Prompts
What “plot twists” in your life feel confusing or unfair right now? How might God be orchestrating them for your elevation?
When has a sudden change or unexpected turn ended up opening doors you didn’t even know you wanted?
How can you practice trust in God’s timing, even when the outcomes aren’t immediately clear?
Remember: even when life feels off-script, He is orchestrating every step with purpose.
